These drop-in classes are for mature dancers, individuals recovering from injury or illness, and others whose bodies need a bit of extra care. Each class provides a low pressure, supportive atmosphere where participants can connect through the love of dance and community. Rooted in traditional modern dance technique, classes focus on finding ease and grace through proper alignment, core strength, and dynamic use of the breath. Classes begin with a thorough, full body warm up and then progress to short dance sequences that are safe, luscious, and fun.

Intro to Modern for Adults Workshop
Four-week sessions

Thursdays 6:00 - 7:30 PM (PDT) Sessions monthly

Summer sessions (3 weeks each): June 13-27 and August 8-22

This 4-week series is perfect for first-time dancers who want to learn in a small, safe, and supportive atmosphere. The series provides a fun and encouraging environment where students learn dance fundamentals through short, easy-to-learn dance sequences. The class will cover the basic structure of a dance class, modern dance vocabulary, key concepts, and how to pick up sequences and memorize choreography. With time to ask questions and explore movement ideas, this series is great for brand new dancers, beginning-level dancers who want to revisit the fundamentals, and dancers with experience in other styles looking to start training in modern.
